Gaining pride and confidence in oneself is the true benefit of an education. Aspire’s Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are led by passionate teachers, customized by skill level, and are self-paced to meet students where they are. This combination of support and structure helps students enter a new chapter of their lives with courage.
Aspire’s programs cover essential reading, writing, and numeric skills that are crucial to everyday life. Students enrolling in ABE can pursue one of two tracks: High School Equivalency or Sequential English Education.
Sequential English Education (SEE)
For adult students (18+) who need specific instruction because of visual and/or auditory processing differences, Aspire offers Sequential English Education—an English language literacy series designed to accommodate such needs through a structural-linguistic approach. These classes are taught in small groups by dedicated and trained Aspire volunteer instructors.
SEE students study the English alphabet, with a complete sensory review of each letter. Hearing, seeing, speaking, and writing with repetition allow students to fully comprehend language foundations.
